What is the Mãe Montessori Toddler Program all about?

DROP OFF PRIVATE CHILDCARE

A 4 week educational mother's day out childcare program for kids between 2 - 4 years old in Aiken, South Carolina with Sabrina Chamberlain.

WEDNESDAYS (9:00 - 13:00)

Every Wednesday for one month (4 visits total per program) from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (4 hours) in Aiken, South Carolina (location to be disclosed in private with parents).

MONTESSORI-INSPIRED

The kids have liberty to explore the environment, select their own materials & work on their own projects, in addition to being invited to be a part of our structured routines (themed activities, culinary lessons, circle time songs, story time, yoga, music classes, crafts, etc).

SNACKS & BRUNCH INCLUDED

The kids will be greeted with an à la carte snack display followed by a practical-life hands on activity where they will help prep & serve brunch for the entire classroom.

PRIVATE & SMALL CLASSROOM (2-4 YEARS)

This program is meant to be a cozy & personalized experience for all the kids. To ensure that, each camp only hosts a max of 6 children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old.

What will the kids learn?

SENSORY REFINEMENT

Activities that teach about the world, how to think cognitively, and refine each of their senses (hearing, sight, touch, smell and taste)

PRACTICAL LIFE SKILLS

Activities that help children practice their motor development, become more independent, responsible and acquire life skills

LANGUAGE

Materials & lessons that help toddlers communicate, identify the letters of the alphabet and how they sound when reading.

MATH

Activities that help recognition of shapes, angles, size, position, the spaces in which they live (spatial awareness), and what numbers mean in a “real world” sense.

CULTURAL LESSONS

Activities about geography, history, art, music and science that enrich their mind about the world around them.

A couple more things to note...

WEEKLY TAKE-HOME ACTIVITY GOODY BAG

Each week the kids get a goody bag with a featured hands-on "mini activity" and a book to take home with them!

DRESS CODE

To ensure freedom of movement during their time here, they should be wearing something comfortable, that does not limit their movement or participation in messy activities.

EXTRA ITEMS

Each child will have their own cubby for their shoes and backpack which should include their water bottle, extra clothes and diapers (if applicable). No outside toys or food allowed.

NO NAP TIME ROUTINE

Given the limited amount of time that the group spends together, our schedule is packed with educational experiences with no wiggle room to accommodate nap routines.

POTTY TRAINING ASSISTANCE

It's okay if your toddler still wears a diaper. Sabrina will offer potty training assistance with frequent bathroom breaks for the entire classroom. Although, if the child is not fully trained yet, they are required to wear a diaper during camp.

Montessori-Inspired 4 Week Childcare Program

Montessori Principles:

  • Follow the child's interests

  • Respect and encourage the child

  • Give freedom of movement indoors and outdoors (as long as children are not in danger or misusing that freedom)

  • Encourage independence and give freedom to make decisions

  • Provide opportunities to learn various practical skills

  • Prepare and maintain an organized and attractive environment

  • Provide child-sized materials and furniture

  • Low shelves for toys and materials

  • Do not interrupt the child's concentration (this includes knowing when to congratulate or make a comment - remain silent during moments of concentration)

  • Allow the child to choose their activities

  • Demonstrate the activities, but do not correct if they choose to participate in the activity in a different way

Did you know: Children who grow up in a Montessori environment demonstrate an interest in learning, self-discipline, concentration, attention, understanding justice and truth, creativity, independence, and a better understanding of grammar and math!
